Dedicated to fostering essential change in Bergen County, Sue Gelsey, our Director & Founder, is passionate about connecting people and amplifying their voices. She firmly believes that bringing faith-based and community-based organizations together can enhance relationships, disrupt tensions, and promote justice and equity.

With over 30 years of experience in community engagement and program leadership, Sue has served in various capacities at the Kaplen JCC, including Chief Operating Officer, Program Director, and Day Camp Director. In her recent role as Chief Program and Talent Officer at JCC Association of North America, she oversaw signature programs and spearheaded JCC Talent, offering vital support for JCC professionals continent-wide. Prior to this, Sue served as Vice President of Community Services with an international fitness management company, collaborating extensively with JCCs, universities, and community centers.

Sue is an enthusiastic supporter of women’s sports, with particular allegiance to WNBA New York Liberty and NWSL champions NJ/NJ Gotham.
