Community Calls brings together diverse groups of people and gives them a forum to interact, where they can learn about each other. We proudly launched our first program with “Dialogue in Good Faith” a panel and discussion on Sunday, February 25. Over 150 community members joined together to hear the community thought leaders on the panel,with close to 100 participants continuing together in small-group dialogue with neighbors from various communities.

Community Celebration, Part II
Small Group Experience
This series made possible with support from The Russell Berrie Foundation and Kaplen JCC on the Palisades.
The partner organizations of Community Calls seek to strengthen relationships, disrupt tensions, and advance change though programming that brings people from diverse backgrounds into community together. Join together with neighbors from around the community in a small group setting to explore literature and texts that will open up space for exploration, learning, and dialogues. This group will meet on a weekday evening once a month from March-June using a variety of media such as texts, podcasts, art and film to create avenues of learning and sharing.

Celebrating AAPI-Jewish Heritage Month
#Throwback to our wonderful evening celebrating AAPI + Jewish Heritage!
In May 2024, we gathered at the Korean Community Center to enjoy a celebration of both AAPI and Jewish culture. There were 5 cultural performances by the Kaplan JCC Dance Team, the Kaplan JCC Youth Choir, and traditional Indian, Korean and Chinese dance groups. Performances were followed by small group discussions.
All-in-all, the night was a beautiful testament to the power of community. We learned, laughed, and grew in cultural awareness together. Can’t wait for the next one! π
